About the position

The Catering Sales Manager at Margaritaville Beach Resort is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and booking catering events while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the event planning and execution process. This role involves proactive sales, event coordination, and collaboration with various departments to deliver exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to a high volume of incoming catering opportunities via various channels including e-mails, walk-ins, phone calls, and website inquiries.
  • Solicit new and repeat business through a proactive sales approach, utilizing consultative selling skills.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to facilitate future bookings.
  • Book, sell, plan, and coordinate events while ensuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Execute contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), prepare invoices for daily events, and ensure the timeliness of final payments and deposits.
  • Gather necessary information from clients and event planners for menu planning, floor plans, room set-up, timeliness, rental orders, décor, cost, and billing details in a timely manner.
  • Interact effectively with clients and event planners to assist with their event requirements as necessary.
  • Utilize Delphi and other proprietary platforms to their fullest extent as directed by Resort leadership.
  • Understand the overall catering market, competitor strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and how to sell against them.
  • Serve the customer by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Interact effectively with all departments within the hotel to ensure guest satisfaction and a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years' experience in a Catering Sales Manager position, ideally in a Full-Service Resort setting, selling & servicing the Corporate and Social Segments.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, virtually and in person.
  • Highly proficient in Amadeus Sales & Catering (Delphi) or similar system.
  • Strong competency in navigating Wedding Pro - Wedding Wire & The Knot.
