About the position

The Catering Chef at NEXDINE Hospitality is responsible for developing and executing culinary results to exceed customer expectations within a Senior Living Community. This role involves overseeing culinary and financial operations, managing catering events, and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. The Chef will also manage client relationships and supervise an hourly staff, contributing to a rewarding hospitality experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage menu writing and cycle of cost control utilizing appropriate recipes and costing measures.
• Manage all catering events and ensure quality of all food products.
• Oversee all aspects of food production, execution, and presentation.
• Receive food and supplies, ensuring the ability to lift items up to 40 pounds.
• Determine production schedules and staff requirements for timely service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity standards.
• Manage client relationships to maintain satisfaction and account retention.
• Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items based on costs.
• Responsible for inventory management and financial reporting to the corporate office.
• Instruct, train, and supervise cooks or other workers in food preparation and presentation.

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in food service management, specifically corporate dining.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe Certification.
• Allergen Awareness Certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Culinary School degree or certificate.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Past experience within Senior Living.
