Responsibilities
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively.
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various payment methods.
- Control cash shortages and overages, adhering to company policies.
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay informed about current, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
Requirements
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
