About the position

The Cashier at Pei Wei is responsible for processing customer orders, handling payments, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role involves operating the POS system, managing cash transactions, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area and workstations.

Responsibilities

• Process phone orders in a timely manner
• Take and process customer orders into POS system
• Process and total orders on POS system and apply customer payment into register
• Process credit cards, take cash, and make correct change for customer payment
• Greet and welcome customers entering the restaurant
• Package take home orders for customers
• Tabulate data regarding bills, total amounts, and restaurant expenses in POS system
• Follow dress code
• Work around various levels of temperature, including warm to extremely warm temperatures in the kitchen
• Maintain a solid knowledge of products and services available in unit
• Clean and stock work area
• Maintain dining area and rest rooms

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience as a cashier and operating a POS system
• Understanding of English language
• Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to customers, employees, and management
• Basic math skills and computer proficiency
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Integrity, honesty, and accountability in all dealings
• Commitment to quality service
