About the position

Robins & Morton is seeking a dedicated Carpenter to join our team in Lake City, FL. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in constructing, repairing, and maintaining both permanent and temporary structures. In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will accurately take off material quantities and build projects that are square, level, and plumb using basic carpentry tools. Additionally, you will install various interior finish items, including wall protection, doors, hardware, and other accessories. Familiarity with different types of carpentry tools, including saws and drills, is essential, as is the ability to operate basic equipment like forklifts and skid steers. You will also be responsible for cutting and installing wood and metal backing as required. Responsibilities

  • Accurately take off material quantities for projects.
  • Build square, level, and plumb specific project tasks using basic carpentry tools.
  • Construct safety provisions including scaffolding, gang ladders, and fall protection systems.
  • Install interior finish items such as wall protection, doors, hardware, and toilet accessories.
  • Safely use various carpentry tools including saws and drills.
  • Identify and request necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) before starting tasks.
  • Operate basic equipment such as all-terrain telescoping forklifts and skid steers.
  • Cut and install interior/exterior wood and metal backing as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in carpentry required, including hanging and taping.
  • Previous experience in hospital construction preferred.
  • 2-5 years' experience installing building specialties, cabinets, windows, countertops, and commercial doors, frames, and hardware.
  • NCCER Training/Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read construction documents and execute tasks based on those documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare construction projects.
  • Familiarity with advanced carpentry techniques and tools.
