About the position

The Caregiver/Resident Aide position at Parc Center for Disabilities involves providing direct assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met through supervision and care. The role emphasizes the importance of dignity, respect, and empathy in interactions, aligning with the organization's mission to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives. Caregivers will assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and engage individuals in positive activities while adhering to their active treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as eating, dressing, bathing, and toileting.
  • Ensure the individuals' active treatment plans are followed.
  • Oversee the completion of all assigned documentation.
  • Coordinate individuals' outings and appointments with other shift supervisors.
  • Assign coverage to all floors to maintain proper staff ratios.
  • Carry the shift supervisor cell phone when assigned the 'charge' for the building to manage staffing and building needs.
  • Facilitate efficient communication with team members, parents, and guardians.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain PARC approved verbal, defensive, and control procedures, CPR, and First Aid certifications (training provided).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Good organizational skills and a team player mentality.
  • Must pass a Level II Criminal Background Check and Pre-employment Drug Screen.
