Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of Georgia (RN)
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN/BSN) (RN)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (RN, CNA, LPN)
  • Strong clinical skills and patient assessment ability (RN)
  • Good communication and documentation skills (RN, LPN)
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program (CNA)
  • Active CNA certification (CNA)
  • Physical stamina, compassion, and reliability (CNA)
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred) (PCA)
  • PCA certificate or on-the-job training (requirements vary by state) (PCA)
  • CPR/First Aid (recommended) (PCA)
  • Patience, empathy, and dependability (PCA)
  • Completion of a state-approved HHA or HCA program (if required) (HCA/HHA)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (often required) (HCA/HHA)
  • Ability to lift and transfer clients safely (HCA/HHA)
  • Good interpersonal skills and compassion (HCA/HHA)
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program (LPN)
  • Active state LPN license (LPN)
  • Clinical competence and communication skills (LPN)

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health needs and develop care plans (RN)
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy (RN)
  • Perform wound care, catheter care, injections, and other clinical procedures (RN)
  • Supervise and/or train CNAs, PCAs, HHAs, and LPNs (RN)
  • Communicate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams (RN)
  • Maintain detailed patient records (RN)
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility (CNA, PCA, HCA/HHA)
  • Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration) (CNA, HCA/HHA)
  • Provide basic comfort care (bed making, positioning, hygiene) (CNA)
  • Report changes in patient condition to supervising nurse (CNA, PCA, HCA/HHA)
  • Help clients with non-medical ADLs: bathing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, companionship (PCA)
  • Support mobility and transfers (may use gait belts or lifts) (PCA)
  • Observe and report client status (PCA, HCA/HHA)
  • Provide light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, shopping (HCA/HHA)
  • Check vitals, assist with prescribed exercises, remind about medications (depending on regulations) (HCA/HHA)
  • Offer companionship and observe/report changes in condition (HCA/HHA)
  • Provide nursing care under supervision of an RN or physician (LPN)
  • Administer medications (except IV in some states) (LPN)
  • Perform wound care, dressings, and other treatments (LPN)
  • Monitor patient health and record vital signs (LPN)
  • Educate patients/families on basic care (LPN)
