The Caregiver/Direct Support Professional role involves providing essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism in community settings. The position focuses on assisting clients with daily living skills, transportation, and implementing therapeutic and behavioral plans to promote independence and improve quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide transportation and support for community outings, medical appointments, and shopping.
- Assist clients with daily living skills, including meal preparation and medication administration.
- Guide clients on developmental goals such as community participation, budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
- Support clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Help redirect agitated or aggressive behaviors in individuals served.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
- Successful clearance of background checks.
- Reliable and responsible attitude.
