About the position

The Career Services Coordinator - Job Developer at SBWIB, Inc. is responsible for spearheading job development initiatives for program participants. This role involves building relationships with employers, conducting outreach, and facilitating job placements for individuals from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong communication skills and a commitment to workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain continuous communication with businesses and job placement agencies.
  • Market and foster relationships with hiring managers and business owners.
  • Conduct outreach through cold calls to prospective employers.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities and participate in program presentations.
  • Conduct research to identify job leads and participate in outreach activities.
  • Source employment opportunities for program participants and facilitate job interviews.
  • Assist participants in assessing job skills and provide guidance on job-seeking strategies.
  • Offer support in preparing job search portfolios and conduct workshops.
  • Follow up with employers regarding placed applicants and monitor job performance.
  • Participate in team meetings and conduct off-site assessments as needed.
  • Track participant activity and prepare documentation related to placement activities.
  • Assist in developing advertising materials for job placement activities.
  • Coordinate work-based learning activities and market job seekers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in social sciences, business administration, human resources, or related discipline.
  • At least two years of experience in social service programs, workforce development, or job placement.
  • Reliable transportation and valid California Driver's License.
  • Strong understanding of labor market trends and job opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to learn virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
