About the position

The Career Preparation Adjunct Instructor position at SAE Institute is a part-time role focused on facilitating student learning and achieving course and program outcomes. The instructor is responsible for teaching, inspiring, and guiding students while continually improving instructional skills and updating course materials. Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning toward course and program outcomes.
• Teach, inspire, motivate, and support students in their courses.
• Update instructional materials to support SAE courses.
• Set high expectations for quality of work and ensure coursework is completed with attention to detail.
• Comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the faculty handbook and other institutional documents.
• Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
• Manage the learning environment by keeping accurate records and enforcing college policies.
• Post attendance and grades in a timely manner.
• Develop instructional plans and course activities that meet competencies.
• Contact and advise at-risk students to provide support and coordinate with academic staff.
• Maintain and manage content on the Learning Management System (Canvas).
• Participate in academic advising and campus events.

Requirements

• Master's degree with 18 semester credits in the coursework area for general education courses.
• Bachelor's degree for non-general education courses with three years of related experience.
• Expert knowledge of subject matter taught in specific courses.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
