About the position

The Care Coordinator at Newport Healthcare plays a crucial role in providing supervision and support to clients in a behavioral healthcare setting. This position focuses on ensuring client safety, building rapport, and facilitating daily activities while maintaining compliance with policies and documentation requirements. The Care Coordinator is integral to the therapeutic environment, contributing to the overall care and well-being of young individuals seeking mental health support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision for clients and ensure their safety while building rapport.
  • Assist clients in group settings and handle individual problems.
  • Set limits for client behavior and document progress.
  • Identify the need for professional services and communicate findings to staff.
  • Maintain awareness of assigned residents' activities at all times.
  • Use verbal de-escalation methods to redirect client behaviors and respond to crises.
  • Facilitate daily schedules and support residents in various activities.
  • Complete daily shift notes for individual clients.
  • Communicate with treatment teams about client concerns.
  • Provide transportation for residents during community outings.
  • Comply with all policies and documentation requirements.
  • Attend weekly clinical supervision and maintain required training certifications.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or sociology preferred.
  • Successful completion of 30 hours of training in relevant areas prior to hire.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for insurance coverage for driving company vehicles.
  • Must become CPR certified within the first 30 days.

  • Experience in mental health or behavioral sciences is preferred.
