About the position
The Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) position in the Cath Lab at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital involves assisting with procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat the cardiovascular system. The role requires preparing patients for procedures, monitoring their condition, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment in a clean and orderly lab environment. This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule from 7 am to 7 pm.
Responsibilities
- Assist with procedures to analyze, diagnose and treat the cardiovascular system.
- Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, positioning them, and cleaning/shaving/numbing testing sites as appropriate.
- Interpret, describe, and report test results; recognize recording errors and artifacts and react appropriately.
- Monitor patients prior to, during, and after procedures, promptly reporting any abnormal findings in the patient's condition.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and the lab area, ensuring equipment is properly functioning.
- Report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel and lock/tag out equipment if necessary.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer date required.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credential from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.
- Cardiographic Tech credential from the CCI obtained within 90 days of hire or job transfer date.
- Radiologic Technologist credential from Florida Radiologic Technology obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.
- High School diploma or GED with 2 years of cumulative experience, or an Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
