About the position

The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise during Electrophysiology (EP) and other cardiovascular, neurovascular, and interventional radiology procedures. This part-time position requires proficiency in various services, with a focus on coaching less experienced technicians and ensuring the smooth operation of imaging equipment and procedural areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise during Electrophysiology and other cardiovascular procedures.
• Coach less experienced technicians in scrub assistance during procedures.
• Enter patient demographics into imaging equipment and archive images correctly.
• Operate and troubleshoot ancillary equipment related to procedures.
• Verify and complete all documentation including EPIC and Qsight Inventory.
• Act as a resource for other technicians and assist in training sessions.
• Participate in hospital-wide committees as a subject expert when requested.
• Assist in scheduling work priorities and reassigning tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible cardiovascular work experience.
• BLS - Basic Life Support certification required.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• RCIS or RCES certification or IBHRE certification preferred.
• Thorough understanding of electrophysiology principles, protocols, and techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in coaching and mentoring less experienced staff.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex procedures to patients and colleagues.
