About the position
The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology lab procedures. This position involves preparing the lab environment, monitoring patient conditions, and providing both routine and emergency care during procedures. The specialist also contributes to the training of new team members and participates in quality control initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations and other cardiovascular procedures.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for lab procedures.
- Monitor patients' ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances during procedures.
- Provide emergency procedures such as CPR and defibrillation as needed.
- Help in running RF/Cryo ablation systems and 3D mapping.
- Collect and prepare procedure reports and registry data.
- Order and maintain inventory of procedure room supplies.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment.
- Participate in quality control monitoring and performance improvement initiatives.
- Transport patients to and from the procedural area.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a related field or completion of a US military training program equivalent to an Associate's degree.
- 2 years of related cardiovascular lab experience or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to apply complex invasive cardiac and vascular values, instrumentation, and techniques.

- Experience in a cardiovascular lab setting.
- Familiarity with quality control initiatives and auditing processes.
