About the position

The Call Cloud Patient Access Specialist functions as part of the clinical care team and is responsible for delivery of excellent customer service and accurately and efficiently performing patient registration, and appointment scheduling. This role ensures that all patients and visitors feel warmly welcomed at all Union Community Care sites, setting the tone for a superb care experience. The specialist provides superior telephone customer service for patients seeking access or assistance, which may include rotation through Call Cloud. They verify all patient demographic and insurance information, answer incoming phone calls professionally and knowledgeably about Union Community Care access and services, and fully understand the Sliding Fee Discount Policy and Procedures, offering this discount to all patients. Additionally, the specialist monitors the Solution Reach appointment communication platform, cancels, schedules, and changes appointments as requested by patients, connects with care teams for first call resolutions, creates patient cases when needed, attends site meetings, and performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand the Sliding Fee Discount Policy and Procedures and offer it to all patients.
  • Monitor Solution Reach appointment communication platform and manage appointments as requested by patients.
  • Connect with care teams for first call resolutions.
  • Create patient cases when needed.
  • Attend site meetings.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., Administrative Assistant Degree or Medical Assistant Degree
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good basic computer skills
  • English proficiency required
  • Strong team player
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus
