About The Position

Oak Pointe, an Evermark company, is a leading manufacturer of exquisitely crafted stair parts and millwork. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a Design Engineer to produce accurate, production-ready drawings and models for custom stair parts and millwork, supporting both office and shop teams with DWG files, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation. Requirements

Proficiency in CAD software for creating DWG drawings and 3D models.
Ability to create detailed drawings for stair systems, including layouts, elevations, and specific part drawings.
Experience in preparing files for customer approval and production.
Skill in adjusting designs based on material and manufacturing constraints.
Ability to collaborate with sales, office staff, and production teams.
Experience in clarifying information from sales or customer inputs.
Familiarity with developing and maintaining drawing templates and configurations.
Experience creating drawings and 3D models from various sources, including field measurements.
Proficiency with tools such as tape measures, calipers, and laser plotters.

Responsibilities

Translate quotes and sales inputs into complete, buildable DWG drawings and PDFs for customer approval.
Revise drawings based on customer feedback, field adjustments, or production constraints.
Create CAD drawings for stair systems, including layouts, elevations, and detailed part drawings (treads, rails, newels, fittings).
Prepare DWG files and 3D renderings for new and existing catalog parts.
Produce shop drawings and dimensioned technical drawings for production.
Adjust designs to align with material and manufacturing constraints.
Identify design issues early and collaborate with sales, office staff, and production to resolve them.
Clarify missing or incomplete information from sales or customer inputs.
Develop and maintain standardized drawing templates and reusable configurations to improve efficiency.
Create accurate drawings and 3D models from templates, existing components, or field measurements using tools such as tape measures, calipers, and laser plotters.
