About the position

The Cable & Harness Technician 3 position at Northrop Grumman involves the fabrication and assembly of complex space flight cable and harness assemblies. The role requires working from various technical documents and adhering to government specifications and workmanship standards. The technician will operate in a professional environment focused on quality and safety, utilizing various hand tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble complex space flight cable and harness assemblies from drawings, schematics, wire lists, or engineering sketches.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Writers, Quality Assurance Representatives, and Production Planners.
• Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in an ESD and FOD awareness area, adhering to safety protocols.
• Utilize hand tools such as soldering irons, tweezers, and heat guns for assembly tasks.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and process documentation.

Nice-to-haves

• Aerospace Industry manufacturing experience.
• Experience with TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, Creo.
• Strong understanding of wiring processes, crimping, splicing, wire routing, and assembly techniques as per IPC standards.
• Familiarization with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control.
• NASA J-STD and/or IPC 620 certifications with Space Addendums.
