About The Position

GeoLogics is seeking a skilled Buyer II for a top Aerospace and Defense client in Lafayette, CO. This role involves procurement within the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry, specifically in a manufacturing or Research & Development (R&D) environment. The Buyer will be responsible for understanding and applying FAR, DFAR, and NASA procurement regulations, utilizing price analysis and target pricing techniques, and procuring custom Fab-to-Print commodities. The position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to meet business needs and ensure compliance with company quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 Years ERP Experience - SAP Preferred
  • Must be able to understand/read engineering drawings and BOM structure
  • Experience working with mechanical/fabricated part drawings and technical spec understanding
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent scheduling and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, and be able to drive a process from start to finish

Nice To Haves

  • Existing procurement experience in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry in a manufacturing or Research & Development (R&D) environment.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR and/or NASA procurement regulations
  • Price analysis and target pricing techniques
  • Experience in procurement and/or vendor contract management is preferred
  • Ability to compile information to make strategic decisions
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Working knowledge of vendor setup, PO packages, T&C negotiations, NDA processing, Cost Savings negotiations.
  • Mechanical Buying experience
  • Software buying experience

Responsibilities

  • Procure custom Fab-to-Print commodities.
  • Work with Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Set and maintain accurate item lead times in the system.
  • Hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations.
  • Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliance with company quality standards.
  • Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure the organization's needs are met while managing purchasing process procedures.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Material Program Manager, Planning, and Accounting to meet business needs.
