About the position
The busser plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience by warmly welcoming guests, assisting with seating, and ensuring timely delivery and service of food and beverages. This position requires attention to detail in maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of tables, as well as supporting servers during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating.
- Serve bread, water, and butter to guests and provide refills as needed.
- Remove used tableware between courses and clear tables after guests leave.
- Clean and reset tables promptly after guests depart.
- Assist servers with food delivery, especially during peak times.
- Communicate effectively with servers and hostesses to ensure efficient service.
- Adhere to health department regulations regarding food handling and service.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience required.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to follow payroll and key sign-out procedures.
- Capability to assist guests and respond to emergencies or safety situations.
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and management.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver trays weighing 20-25 pounds and stand for long periods.
