About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Business Systems Analyst III (Scrum Master) to facilitate technical discussions, decision making, impediment resolution, and conflict resolution. This role ensures transparency from the Product Owner to the scrum team through internal and external communication. The Scrum Master will perform continual assessment of the team's maturity, providing coaching for growth, and commit to continuous process improvement by facilitating reviews and retrospectives. They will schedule and facilitate scrum ceremonies, work with the product owner to refine and prioritize the backlog, and plan sprints based on backlog priority and team velocity. The role also involves assisting in gathering requirements, creating user stories, and developing team dashboards and reports. The Scrum Master will help establish the definition of done, serve as a servant leader for clear communication and organization, engage stakeholders to analyze user needs and limitations, and communicate committed stories for upcoming sprints. Additionally, they will track and produce key metrics and work closely with the resident SAFe Coach SPC. A high degree of competency using Jira, Rally, and Gitlab is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience serving as dedicated Scrum Master.
  • Scrum Master Certified.
  • High competency using Jira and Gitlab.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI (Ability and willingness to take CI poly)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Public Policy, Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of technical discussions, decision making, impediment resolution and conflict resolution
  • Ensure transparency from Product Owner to scrum team by facilitating internal and external communication
  • Perform continual assessment of the maturity of the scrum team and providing coaching and insight in support of greater maturity
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement including active facilitation of reviews and retrospectives and incorporation of lessons learned for future sprints
  • Schedule and facilitate scrum ceremonies (stand up, poker, planning, demo, retrospective, etc)
  • Work with the product owner to refine and prioritize the backlog
  • Responsible for planning of sprints based on backlog priority and development team velocity
  • Assist in gathering of requirements and creation of user stories
  • Ability to create team dashboards and other reports documenting work completed each Sprint
  • Helping to establish the definition of done (Acceptance Criteria) for user stories
  • Serve as the servant leader for the team to ensure clear communication and organization of the team
  • Engage stakeholders, contributors and technical resources to analyze user needs and resource limitations
  • Communicate committed stories for the upcoming sprint to backlog owners and stakeholders
  • Track and produce key metrics (e.g., burndown, burnup).
  • Work closely with the resident SAFe Coach SPC.
