About The Position

Hydro One is seeking a Business Process Analyst to provide recommendations on business process integration and improvement programs. This role will participate in the development and maintenance of business process integration programs, associated methods, and documentation. The analyst will collaborate with internal departments, customer groups, and stakeholders to ensure consistent and efficient project execution and process integration. The position involves developing and coordinating methods, processes, and governance frameworks for project planning, execution, and monitoring, and promoting the value of these programs within the business unit's strategic framework. The analyst will also conduct business assessments, prepare Project Execution Plans (PEPs), and coordinate work efforts for project delivery. Additionally, the role includes participating in critical reviews and audits, developing business improvement plans, and identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery efficiency and performance. The analyst will ensure departmental business improvement plans align with divisional strategy and support project delivery, performance targets, and strategic objectives. Facilitating process optimization, supporting improvement plan implementation using data-driven analysis and industrial engineering principles, and monitoring project processes and improvement initiatives are also key responsibilities. The role requires staying updated on business process analysis, project governance, continuous improvement methodologies, and industrial engineering practices, as well as participating in initiatives for training and capability development in these areas. Cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on project delivery, governance, and process optimization is expected. The position also includes performing other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Requires a knowledge of the principles of business methods, business processes, procedure development, organizational structure, change management and the practical application of these of these principles to ensure effective and efficient program implementation.
  • Requires this knowledge to provide effective expertise and application of human and financial resources, and to be aware of their influences and limitations in relation to business process improvement and integration programs.
  • Requires knowledge of English, both in orally and written form, to effectively prepare concise, clearly understandable reviews, presentations, correspondence, process descriptions, procedures, guides and reports, and to discuss philosophy and requirements with others both internally and externally to the corporation.
  • Requires experience in the areas of planning, organization, and change management associated with business improvement initiatives and strategic and quality programming.
  • Requires familiarity with business process improvement policies, principles, methods, procedures, standards, measures and communication systems.
  • Requires familiarity of various departments, their areas of responsibility, contacts, sources of information, etc, in order to recommend an appropriate direction and to ensure that the business process integration programs meet business unit and divisional requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations to the division on business process integration, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of project delivery processes, associated methods, standards and documentation.
  • Work with internal departments, customer groups and stakeholders to support consistent and efficient project execution and process integration.
  • Participate in the development and coordination of methods, processes and governance frameworks which govern how projects are planned, executed and monitored.
  • Promote the value of these programs as contributors to key effectiveness areas within the business unit strategic framework.
  • Initiate and participate in formal business assessments through involvement in identifying specific needs, determining resources and involvement in selection of appropriate qualified consultants.
  • Prepare the Project Execution Plan (PEP) ensuring alignment with divisional requirements and governance expectations.
  • Coordinate the work efforts to project delivery and recommend acceptance or refinement of proposed solutions.
  • Participate in critical reviews and audits of management and business processes.
  • Participate in the development and promote business improvement plans, ensuring engagement from the line organization.
  • Initiate interviews, evaluate proposals, and analyze opportunities to improve project delivery efficiency, integration and performance.
  • Prepare reports and presentations identifying priority improvement areas and measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure the department business improvement plans are consistent with the divisional strategy.
  • Confirm that improvement efforts support consistent project delivery, performance targets, and strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate the identification of priority opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Support the development and implementation of improvement plans using data-driven analysis, standardization, and best practices aligned with industrial engineering principles.
  • Participate in the monitoring, measurement, and evaluation of project processes and improvement initiatives to assess effectiveness, performance, and sustainability of outcomes.
  • Keep abreast of developments in business process analysis, project governance, continuous improvement methodologies, and industrial engineering practices.
  • Maintain communication with internal teams, external organizations, and industry groups.
  • Participate in the development and coordination of initiatives to address training and capability development needs in project process analysis, governance, and continuous improvement tools and methods.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions, teams, and committees within the organization and with external stakeholders on matters related to project delivery, governance, and process optimization.
  • Perform other duties as required.
