About the position

As a Business Intelligence Engineer II at Amazon, you will leverage your expertise in business analysis and data analytics to create impactful solutions that enhance customer experiences. This role involves collaborating with various teams to solve complex problems, utilizing advanced technologies to develop scalable solutions, and contributing to strategic decision-making processes. Responsibilities

  • Utilize expertise in business analysis, metrics, reporting, and analytic tools/languages like SQL and Excel to translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of operational, financial, and technical aspects of insights for the business.
  • Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Produce written recommendations and insights to shape effective metric development and reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure and availability of customer insights.
  • Develop and drive best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity and documentation.
  • Learn new technology and techniques to support product and process innovation.

Requirements

  • At least 4+ years of experience using SQL to query data from databases/data warehouses/cloud data sources.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Math, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Ability to operate successfully and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and eagerness to learn new skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale datasets.
  • Experience with creating predictive/optimization tools that benefit the business and improve customer experience.
  • Experience articulating business questions and using quantitative techniques to drive insights for business.
  • Experience dealing with technical and non-technical senior level managers.
