About The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst I works within Information Services to author business intelligence reports. This role authors business intelligence reports and dashboards, fulfills ad-hoc data requests from business users, and aids with data science, data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and other team projects. The analyst will develop SQL queries for the data warehouse and/or other relational databases, assist with ETL changes and development, and handle multiple projects concurrently. Responsibilities also include monitoring major reports for anomalies, training business users on BI tools, providing support for production applications, and resolving help desk tickets related to BI tools and the data warehouse. The role requires attending team meetings, training sessions, and company programs, responding promptly to communications, and staying current with data analytics and business intelligence developments.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and able to independently work on projects.
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets technical journals and financial reports.
  • Effectively presents information to top management.
  • Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and works with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Applies principles of logical or scientific thinking to practical problems and deals with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Utilizes strong multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills necessary for managing multiple systems issues and projects at one time in a team environment.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience with reporting applications such as GCP Looker, IBM Cognos, etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity working with data sets 3-4 TB in size.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds may be occasionally required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior GCP Looker experience, preferred.
  • Prior data analytics experience, preferred.
  • Certifications in report authoring tools.
