About the position

The Business, Gift and Data Support Analyst (DATA SYS ANL 1) at the University of California, Davis plays a crucial role in providing support for gift systems and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. This position involves regular interaction with clients, collecting and documenting user requirements, and delivering training. The analyst will also conduct user acceptance testing and work to improve data integrity within the Advancement Services team, which supports fundraising activities at UC Davis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide gift systems support and gift review to ensure compliance with regulations and gift policy.
  • Interact with clients regularly to gather feedback and provide insights to Advancement Services.
  • Collect and document users' functional, data, and technical requirements for system enhancements.
  • Review and suggest design solutions to improve business efficiency.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training in various formats.
  • Act as a gift policy resource for gift submitters.
  • Analyze and summarize meetings, requests, or issues for various stakeholders.
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) for new or updated applications.
  • Guide end-users through UAT processes.
  • Analyze gift, biographical, and other data for accuracy and error patterns.
  • Participate in manual cleanup projects to improve data integrity.
  • Monitor and verify data entry standards and formats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience analyzing business needs and improving data entry processes.
  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience working with confidential records.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a not-for-profit or fundraising environment managing small to mid-size projects.
  • Experience in accounting, financial reconciliation, or large complex database structures.
  • Skills to analyze and synthesize statistical data and create detailed reports.
