About the position

We are Divergys, an established but growing Managed Services Provider with our primary offices located in Humble, Texas. We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Business Development Specialist to join our team. This role is a base salary plus commission role with benefits including items like health, vision, dental and life insurance, 401k with matching, PTO and more. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new Managed IT Services clients and driving business development initiatives, utilizing your sales experience, professionalism and competitive energy. This person's primary focus is to promote and sell our comprehensive Managed IT Services solutions to potential clients. As a Business Development Specialist, you will drive sales activity by generating daily sales through various channels including networking events, referrals, and targeted marketing campaigns. You will be expected to consistently meet or exceed sales targets by securing new clients. Engaging with prospects is a key part of your role, where you will conduct meetings to understand their needs, identify sales opportunities, and present tailored IT solutions. Collaboration with our technical team is essential to determine and propose effective IT and cybersecurity solutions. Additionally, you will educate and inform prospects about the importance of cybersecurity and how our solutions can protect their business against evolving threats.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales Activity: Generate daily sales activity through various sales channels including networking events, referrals and targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Achieve Sales Quotas: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets by securing new clients.
  • Prospect Engagement: Conduct meetings with prospects to understand their needs, identify sales opportunities, and present tailored IT solutions.
  • Collaborate with Technical Team: Work closely with our technical team to determine and propose effective IT and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Promote Cybersecurity Solutions: Educate and inform prospects about the importance of cybersecurity and how our solutions can protect their business against evolving threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or two years of sales experience, preferably in IT or managed services.
  • Passion for technology and its application in advancing business processes.
  • Proven experience in prospecting and generating new business leads.
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to initiate and develop client relationships.
  • Eagerness to meet and exceed sales targets and develop a robust client base.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing industry training and professional development.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow a proven process.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
