About the position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) position at Salient Systems Corporation is designed to support the outside sales team in identifying and engaging potential new customers, resellers, and consultants. The role involves setting up product demonstrations, managing a sales pipeline, and assisting in closing sales opportunities. The BDR will work closely with various internal teams to ensure effective communication and relationship management, ultimately driving sales growth in the video surveillance market.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential new customers, resellers, and consultants.
  • Set initial product demonstrations for end users, resellers, or consultants.
  • Assist the sales team in moving opportunities from leads to closed sales.
  • Manage a sales territory within the US market and new business opportunities.
  • Maintain direct relationships with the Business Development Manager and regional sales team.
  • Qualify and convert outbound leads into prospective customers.
  • Generate sales-ready meetings and opportunities for Regional Sales Managers.
  • Use Salesforce and other sales enablement tools to track lead progression.
  • Provide quality support to internal staff, partners, and external customers.

Requirements

  • Experience making calls and engaging prospects in a previous role.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and/or ZoomInfo.
  • Experience in business development, sales, or inside sales is a plus.
  • Excellent presentation abilities and written communication skills.
  • Proven skills to explain complex problems or solutions simply.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence for strong relationship building.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to qualify end users and resellers/integrators as prospects.
  • Willingness to learn about the video surveillance market.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in business development or sales roles.
  • Knowledge of video surveillance systems and solution selling skills.
