About the position

The Business Development Representative role is a full-time position focused on driving internal business growth for a franchising company that specializes in commercial cleaning and janitorial services. The representative will engage in prospecting, qualifying leads, and maintaining client relationships through various communication methods. This position emphasizes a collaborative work environment and aims to achieve sales revenue goals while supporting the outside sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Drive internal business growth targeting client relationships.
  • Prospect and qualify leads, updating the sales CRM database.
  • Perform daily follow-ups with clients via phone calls, emails, and marketing mailings.
  • Vet leads for the Outside Sales Team to ensure legitimate needs for service estimates.
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars for the Outside Sales team.
  • Manage lead flow for outside sales and facilitate innovative marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Brand Services to focus efforts in targeted areas.
  • Research vertical markets to identify new opportunities with the marketing team.
  • Participate in scheduled team meetings and one-on-one meetings with the outside salesperson.
  • Achieve sales revenue goals for new account sales and special services.
  • Work with outside vendors to secure leads.
  • Initiate 30-40 calls a day to potential customers.
  • Establish a marketing strategy for older proposals and non-responsive customers.
  • Facilitate the creation and implementation of internal marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in inside sales.
  • Experience with creating and managing phone, email, and mail marketing campaigns.
  • Experience with cold calling.
  • Highly adept at navigating software systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly proficient with technology and software systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Adept at conflict resolution.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience closing new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads.
