About The Position

Wiretap Telecom is looking for a dedicated Business Development Representative (BDR) to own the top of the sales funnel. The BDR's mission is to out-hustle the competition, handle high-volume outbound outreach, and get qualified decision-makers to either request a wholesale quote or book an appointment. Once a prospect is at that stage, the BDR hands the lead to the CEO to close the deal. While deep network engineering knowledge is not required initially, a passion for technology and a strong willingness to learn the telecommunications industry are essential.

Requirements

  • Excellent, clear verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to write sharp, personalized emails and sound professional and confident on the phone.
  • High-volume outbound dialing experience.
  • Resilient mindset and ability to handle rejection.
  • Meticulous about tracking details, logging call notes, and setting follow-up tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with Zoho CRM and Apollo.io (or similar tools like Salesforce/ZoomInfo).
  • Prior experience in telecom, VoIP, CLEC, or MSP sales.
  • Intense curiosity and ability to learn complex technical infrastructure quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Execute 50 to 100 outbound touchpoints daily using a multi-channel approach (cold calling, targeted email sequences, and strategic LinkedIn outreach).
  • Engage Telecom Directors, IT Managers, and operations decision-makers.
  • Identify prospect's current routing, capacity, or billing pain points, and introduce our competitive advantages.
  • Successfully navigate conversations to transition a prospect into one of two winning stages: an official Request for Quote (RFQ) or a scheduled discovery calendar appointment with our CEO.
  • Maintain flawless data hygiene and manage daily workflows using Zoho CRM, Apollo.io, and other advanced sales engagement tools.
  • Rapidly absorb training on telecom concepts (SIP signaling, termination, toll-free routing, footprints, SMS, UCaaS, etc.) to speak confidently and authoritatively with technical prospects.
