About the position

The Business Development Executive (BDE) at Forvis Mazars plays a crucial role in driving market growth by developing relationships and new business opportunities with organizations ranging from privately-owned businesses to large public companies. The BDE collaborates closely with the Managing Partner to execute market growth strategies and leads business development efforts for strategic prospects and clients, ensuring alignment with the firm's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong working relationship with the Managing Partner to assess market needs and define growth strategies.
  • Lead and facilitate regular market growth meetings with key leaders to coordinate market growth efforts.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key executive buyers to identify client service opportunities.
  • Provide leadership on strategic pursuits, including pre-pursuit research and developing strategic pursuit plans.
  • Engage and coordinate with subject matter professionals for pursuit strategies.
  • Lead internal prep and strategy meetings for opportunity scoping and relationship development.
  • Coordinate proposal responses, including developing strategies and key messages.
  • Participate in oral presentations and follow-up meetings with clients.
  • Provide negotiation and pricing strategy leadership during pursuits.
  • Serve as a face of the firm in the market, developing referral relationships and leading opportunistic pursuits.
  • Participate in trade organizations and business networks to build community relationships.
  • Provide ongoing business development coaching to senior staff and partners.
  • Collaborate with other Business Development Executives to share best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in professional services sales and/or relationship management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Thorough understanding of the professional services industry, particularly in public accounting and consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams across various competencies.
  • Experience maintaining professional relationships with C-level executives.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to serve clients as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 15 years or more of experience in public accounting and consulting industry.
  • Experience in business development at a Top 10 public accounting and consulting firm.
  • Proven experience leading teams through sales methodologies and processes.
