About the position

The Business Developer at BrightView Landscapes is responsible for enhancing the company's market position and achieving profitable financial growth. This role involves building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating and closing deals, and managing the sales pipeline from prospecting to closing. The Business Developer collaborates with various partners to meet sales targets and maintain a deep understanding of market conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with prospective customers to discover their 'points of pain' and develop solutions.
  • Accurately forecast sales deliverables and KPIs.
  • Achieve sales goals and work independently.
  • Perform sales prospecting using consultative sales techniques to build long-standing business relationships.
  • Prepare and conduct heavy phone prospecting, sales presentations, and virtual demonstrations.
  • Handle contract negotiations with minimum supervision.
  • Identify customer needs and utilize solution-based selling techniques.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospects and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain trust-based professional relationships with key decision makers.
  • Plan daily activities to hit specific benchmarks and close business.
  • Log activity consistently and reliably in CRM (Salesforce).
  • Communicate proactively with all decision makers and influencers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of extensive face-to-face (B2B) selling experience at the mid to senior levels.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and able to multi-task in a large territory.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with a CRM or SFA tool.
  • Proven track record of sales goal attainment and pipeline management.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working experience with social media.
  • Local knowledge and contacts in one or more market segments preferred.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Experience in the service industry with commercial contract sales desirable.
