About the position

The Business Data Analyst at Equity Bank plays a crucial role within the Strategic Initiatives team, focusing on driving strategic projects through data analysis and modeling. This position is designed for individuals who are strategically minded and capable of influencing change while enhancing customer and business performance through quality data insights. The analyst will utilize a flexible analytical skill set to address operational challenges and support better business decisions using data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of strategic advanced analytics solutions using descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Perform modeling and analytics to assist with new product and pricing strategies for various initiatives.
  • Leverage modern technologies to analyze large data sets and gain insights.
  • Create and evaluate model design and performance, analyzing input data and methodology.
  • Use statistical practices to analyze current and historical data for predictions and risk identification.
  • Provide analytics insights and solutions to solve complex business problems.
  • Apply business knowledge and advanced statistical modeling techniques in data structure and tool development.
  • Examine data from multiple sources and share insights with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Transform data into useful formats for effective decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of industry standards and best practices in financial services.
  • Prepare project deliverables that are easily understood by stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering).
  • At least 2 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in statistical model building and business analysis.
  • Strong analytic skills to extract, collect, organize, analyze, and interpret complex data trends.
  • Demonstrated task management skills.
  • Good judgment, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in manipulating large data sets.
  • Proficiency with large server-based applications and typical desktop software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional manner.
