About the position

As a Business Analyst II at Sally Beauty Holdings, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's performance through data analysis and reporting. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough research and analysis of performance metrics, systematically gathering and assessing relevant data to identify trends and insights. You will create comprehensive reports that effectively communicate your findings to stakeholders, ensuring that the information is both accurate and actionable. This position requires a continuous review of performance metrics to provide valuable recommendations aimed at improving business processes, strategies, and overall organizational performance. In this role, you will spend approximately 40% of your time designing, developing, generating, and reviewing reports by utilizing aggregate data from multiple sources. You will be expected to provide a reasonable level of assurance regarding the accuracy of the information provided and respond promptly to inquiries from management and vendors. Another 25% of your time will be dedicated to conducting in-depth sales analysis, which includes tracking and trending sales, forecasting, analyzing sales productivity metrics, evaluating promotional effectiveness, and assessing the return on investment (ROI) of business initiatives. You will assist management in presenting your recommendations based on the analysis, ensuring a clear and concise understanding of the reported information and its financial implications. Additionally, you will coordinate with both internal and external associates to fulfill the requirements for monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting, which will take up about 20% of your time. The remaining 15% will involve identifying opportunities for improvement within the company, leveraging your analytical skills to enhance overall performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, generate, review and understand reports using aggregate data from multiple sources.
  • Conduct in-depth sales analysis related to tracking and trending of sales, sales forecast, and sales productivity metrics.
  • Assist management with presenting recommendations based on analysis, providing a clear understanding of reported information and its financial impact.
  • Coordinate with internal and external associates on required monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements by and among the companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business, finance, or a math/statistical discipline.
  • 3-5 years in a reporting, data analysis, sales, or market research environment.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Alteryx, and other visualization tools.
  • Experience with Ad-hoc reporting.
