About The Position

The MUOS SLE program is looking for a Mechanical Products lead for the Spacecraft Bus Integrated Product Team. In this role, the candidate will oversee a multidiscipline team ensuring the Bus products are made efficiently, safely, meet stringent quality standards, and stay on schedule. This position will bridge the gap between upper management and the engineering teams by overseeing budgets, optimizing workflows, and managing personnel. The candidate will also perform delegation activities for the Spacecraft Bus IPT lead. Position is contingent upon contract award anticipated July 2026. This position requires eligibility and willingness to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. Must be a US citizen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline
  • 5+ years experience in an engineering and production setting
  • Mechanical Systems background with familiarity in Spacecraft Bus Architecture
  • Experience guiding the successful completion of significant projects and/or multi-discipline team efforts
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • US citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LM2100 Spacecraft Bus Mechanical Products
  • Expertise with one or more of the following: Composite Structures, Mechanism Products, Propulsion Products, or Thermal Products.
  • Experience with part procurement, qualification, and traceability issues
  • Experience working closely with subcontractors and subcontract management
  • Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR, CDR, etc.
  • Project Management Experience
  • Control Account Management (CAM) experience within the last 5 years
  • Thorough understanding of program, functional, and process metrics including Earned Value Management (EVM)

Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets, analyze cost variances, and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Communicate across organizational levels and functionalities.
