About the position
The Bus Aide position is designed to assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for students. The aide plays a crucial role in maintaining student conduct on the bus and ensuring the safety of all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Assist the bus driver in maintaining student conduct on the bus.
- Assist young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
- Provide written records of violations of student code to the building principal.
- Collect personal items left on the bus and turn them over to the school office.
- Provide instruction to students regarding passenger safety and ensure that students wear their seat belts when the bus is so equipped.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write.
- Good physical health and ability to perform assigned duties.
- Knowledge of bus passenger safety and effective discipline procedures.
- Successful screening through the district's personnel employment process.
