About the position

The Building Trades Supervisor 11 position is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance, turf management, and road building and repair at the Battle Creek Air National Guard. This role involves direct supervision of personnel, ensuring that routine and emergency maintenance tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently. The supervisor will work closely with the Production Controller and Facility Manager to manage work orders and maintenance schedules, while also providing guidance to crew leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to all personnel involved in facility maintenance, turf management, and road building/repair.
  • Work with the Production Controller and Facility Manager to prioritize preventive maintenance and work order requests.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks by keeping crew leaders on track with priorities.
  • Coordinate staff coverage for emergencies, potentially after hours, using a work-issued cellphone.
  • Assist staff at Battle Creek W.K. Kellogg with their daily tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of experience in a recognized skilled trade or one year as a crew leader in a skilled trade.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Building Automation or Direct Digital Control systems.
  • Experience with HVAC/R systems.
  • Experience with electrical components and plumbing.
  • Experience with commercial door locking systems and hardware.
  • Experience with mechanical equipment preventative maintenance.
