About the position
The Building Trades Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing personnel involved in facility maintenance, turf management, and road building and repair at the Battle Creek Air National Guard. This role involves direct supervision, prioritizing maintenance tasks, and ensuring timely completion of work orders. The supervisor will also coordinate staff coverage for emergencies and maintain communication with crew leaders to keep them focused on their priorities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to all personnel involved in facility maintenance, turf management, and road building/repair.
- Work with the Production Controller and Facility Manager to prioritize preventive maintenance and work order requests.
- Ensure tasks are accomplished in a timely manner by keeping crew leaders on track with priorities.
- Coordinate staff coverage for emergencies after hours using a work-issued cellphone.
- Monitor and assist crews in their daily tasks, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience equivalent to the experienced level in a recognized skilled trade or one year equivalent to a crew leader in a recognized skilled trade.
