About the position

The Building Technician II is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining various utilities, particularly HVAC systems, within facilities. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety policies and standard operating procedures. The technician also assists in improving facility processes and maintaining an inventory of maintenance tools and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems and other utilities.
  • Perform planned maintenance, repairs, and modifications in various areas including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Respond to Facility Service Work Orders from building occupants.
  • Diagnose faults in building management and energy management systems.
  • Assist other technicians in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of tools and work areas.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and use required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of building or facilities experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current universal refrigeration license and/or other trade licenses as required.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing issues.
