About the position

The Airport Maintenance Group Leader - Buildings position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the terminal and any IAA owned facilities, including reliever airports. This role includes general supervision responsibilities, assisting the Supervisor, directing individuals and teams, training personnel, executing paperwork, maintaining records, and coaching subordinates. The employee will coordinate activities between internal and external customers and communicate information as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and troubleshoot plumbing systems, drinking and wastewater systems, fire protection systems, building structures, and key and lock systems.
  • Participate on snow removal teams.
  • Execute proper paperwork handling and routing.
  • Provide team-building tactics.
  • Maintain proper records as required.
  • Follow all safety regulations and performance indicators to improve and facilitate a clean working atmosphere.
  • Complete all work in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate work activities with Supervisor.
  • Coordinate work efforts with other departments.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
  • Conduct safety training as needed.
  • Follow all Airport regulations.
  • Follow IAA rules.
  • Follow FAA regulations.
  • Assist in planning and design of new construction including all costs and materials.
  • Act as temporary supervisor as needed.
  • Perform any other function assigned.
  • Perform all essential functions of the job without creating a direct threat to safety.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school, completion of a GED, or vocational school is required.
  • A combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B.
  • Ability to perform the physical and cognitive tasks outlined in the job description.
  • Three to five (3 - 5) years' experience in the building maintenance industry.
