Building Groundskeeper Maintenance - 3rd Shift - Tecumseh, NE

About the position

The Maintenance Building Groundskeeper (Utility) will be responsible for general building and equipment maintenance, including being a water operator, handling snow removal during winter months, and performing general repair and maintenance of all forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, company vehicles, and other equipment owned by the company. Responsibilities also include general building repairs such as plumbing needs, facility lighting, painting, and assisting with the general cleanliness of the facility and grounds. The associate will be responsible for trash removal from the facility and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the truck sheds, loafing sheds, maintenance shop, and bone yard. Some off-shift work will be scheduled, which may include weekends, and other seasonal work and duties within the Maintenance Department may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building and equipment maintenance.
• Act as a water operator.
• Handle snow removal during winter months.
• Conduct general repair and maintenance of forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, and company vehicles.
• Perform plumbing repairs and facility lighting maintenance.
• Assist with painting and general cleanliness of the facility and grounds.
• Manage trash removal and maintain cleanliness of truck sheds, loafing sheds, maintenance shop, and bone yard.
• Complete other seasonal work and duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

• Verifiable knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Good mechanical ability with general knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including preventative and scheduled maintenance.
• Plumbing skills and general knowledge of electrical and lighting.
• Ability to operate a forklift, bobcat, shag truck, and other company vehicles with a clean driving history.
• Physical ability to lift at least 40-50 lbs and stand throughout the majority of the shift.
• Capability to work in all environmental conditions both inside and outside of the facility.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• Good written skills with computer skills being a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to work as a team member.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience in facility maintenance and/or automotive mechanic.
