Commissioning Technicians participate in the estimating, tracking, start-up and commissioning of projects, and will be the customer interface for all technical requirements of assigned projects. You will provide expertise and knowledge throughout the system or service project lifecycle on customer sites. Why is this so important? Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. Analyze plans, specifications, and contract details to determine system requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team. Identify time-sensitive installation needs. Coordinate work with subcontractors.
  • Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects. Track resources and project progress.
  • Troubleshoot issues, including identifying and debugging software, and diagnosing electrical or pneumatic installation problems.
  • Organize and maintain job documentation.
  • Provide on-site assistance with or perform programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes. Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training. Act as technical resource to customers and field employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • 3+ year experience in building automation controls such as installation, maintenance, diagnosing, commissioning, programming, etc.
  • Experience with building automation protocols such as ModBus, BacNet, etc.
  • Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years' experience in building automation controls such as installation, maintenance, diagnosing, commissioning, programming, etc.
  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree.

  • The pay range for this position is $76,700 - $131,600 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
