About the position
The BSN - Registered Nurse position at BioLife Plasma Services involves working as a Medical Support Specialist in a plasma donation center. The role focuses on ensuring donor eligibility, managing donor reactions, and supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and the Center Physician. The position emphasizes a commitment to customer service and quality in the collection of high-quality plasma that contributes to life-changing medicines.
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations.
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies according to SOPs.
- Refer unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance.
- Support vaccination programs for employees, such as Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
- Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency services.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized educational nursing program.
- Currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
