About the position

The position involves various responsibilities centered around maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest interaction in a kitchen environment. The role emphasizes the importance of family-style service, teamwork, and a positive attitude while ensuring that all menu items are prepared and presented according to established recipes and training. The cook will be responsible for cooking, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen equipment, as well as adhering to food safety standards. There are different levels of cooks, each with specific responsibilities and skill requirements, ranging from basic food preparation to more advanced cooking techniques and order coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operating principles are adhered to: Clean, Safe, Friendly, Fun.
  • Display Family Style Service to deliver the best experience to guests.
  • Assist in creating a Strong Team that works together toward a common goal.
  • Display a Positive Attitude and genuine desire to reach positive outcomes.
  • Interact effectively and courteously with all guests and employees.
  • Cook all menu items and present plates according to recipes and training.
  • Maintain menu items on the kitchen line according to recipes and training.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen and all kitchen equipment.
  • Use all kitchen equipment associated with certification level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of mise en place and FIFO method.
  • Ability to follow recipes and control portions.
  • Knowledge of food safety and storage temperatures.
  • One year of kitchen experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of all kitchen equipment.
  • Basic understanding of ordering, inventory, and cost control.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in food safety.
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
