About the position

The Branch Sales Associate position is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and maximizing sales opportunities in a branch setting. The associate will engage with walk-in customers, assist with product selection, and perform various warehouse tasks while ensuring a positive customer experience. This role requires adaptability, effective communication, and a commitment to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience, including product selection and order entry.
• Safely pick products and load customer vehicles.
• Maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
• Adapt communication style to different audiences in various formats (email, phone, in-person).
• Pick, prepare, and stage will call orders and shipping products.
• Prepare customer backorders and manage stock received.
• Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
• Perform inventory counts and maintain branch appearance.
• Learn and navigate different computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to meet Grainger standards.
• Comply with safety guidelines and wear personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
• Willingness to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
