About the position
The Branch Operations Lead plays a crucial role in assisting Branch Operations Management by overseeing daily warehouse operations. This position involves direct supervision of warehouse associates, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining a customer service-oriented environment. The Lead will also engage in training and development of team members while managing workflow and safety procedures within the branch.
Responsibilities
- Supervise five or more associates in warehouse and delivery operations.
- Support teammates in their training opportunities and ensure immediate application to daily work.
- Coordinate warehouse activities with the Assistant Manager and/or Manager.
- Assist in learning all functions of Branch Management, including operations, staffing, and budgeting.
- Maintain daily workflow for delivery orders and assist associates during peak business hours.
- Ensure replenishment orders and returned merchandise are processed according to company standards.
- Participate in planning personnel safety and training activities.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and make recommendations regarding safety improvements.
- Review and follow branch procedures, serving as a role model for compliance.
- Report violations of policies and safety concerns to management.
- Maintain a customer service-oriented philosophy in all conduct of self and teammates.
- Ensure operations procedures are followed for incoming and outgoing shipments and inventory management.
- Inform management of the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment.
- Deliver products and equipment to customers using a company vehicle.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience, including leading or planning the work of other teammates.
- Must meet all applicable state-specific driver's license requirements for driving a company vehicle.
- Demonstrated self-starter and motivated individual willing to learn new skills.
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
