About the position
Park High School is seeking a dynamic, highly qualified candidate to serve as Boys Lacrosse Varsity Assistant Coach. Candidates are desired to have successful high school and/or collegiate level head coaching experience, and related successful experiences in educational leadership. Candidates should be experienced in building a comprehensive program, developing staff, and managing diverse program-wide elements in accordance with the Park High School Activities Dept. mission statement and definition of success. All candidates should have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the Boys Lacrosse program and the local community.
Responsibilities
- Instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
- Teach and model character and responsible behavior.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement and transformational coaching.
- Help team members reach their goals and view success beyond just winning.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
- Positive, high energy, and committed.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is preferred for assistant coaches and required for head coaches.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in building a comprehensive program.
- Experience in developing staff.
