About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our office by managing various administrative tasks, including financial record-keeping and reporting. This position requires proficiency in accounting practices and software, as well as strong organizational skills to support our office's daily functions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee support functions including hiring and onboarding processes, payroll and benefits administration, employee attendance, development and training implementation, and records management.
  • Handle daily bookkeeping responsibilities to ensure timely payment of invoices, collection of payments, reconciling of accounts and maintenance of financial records.
  • Process payments, invoices, income and receipts and enter data into accounting software or databases then file hard copies.
  • Manage and track bank debits/deposits and wire transfers.
  • Prepare financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
  • Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances.
  • Manage payroll through our 3rd-party provider.
  • Manage employee travel expenses and credit card usage.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience of direct oversight of bookkeeping for a mid-sized, fast-growing manufacturing firm or comparable organization.
  • Office administration experience, including oversight of HR administration and regulatory compliance, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
