About the position

We are actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Boiler Technician to join our team. As a Boiler Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of boilers and related equipment. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of boiler systems, exceptional problem-solving skills, and expertise in working with steam plant systems and hot water boilers. Proficiency in tuning boilers for optimal performance and conducting and analyzing flue gas analysis is a key requirement. Additionally, the successful candidate must be familiar with local air quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance of boilers and related components.
• Perform routine inspections to identify and address potential issues.
• Execute preventative maintenance to ensure optimal boiler performance.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in boilers and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions.
• Respond to emergency repair requests promptly and efficiently.
• Proficient in tuning boilers to achieve optimal efficiency.
• Conduct and analyze flue gas analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Stay informed and ensure compliance with local air quality standards.
• Implement measures to meet and maintain air quality standards in boiler operations.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct safety assessments and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their specific boiler system requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Employment will require becoming a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 447.
• Certification or vocational training in boiler technology preferred.
• Proven experience as a Boiler Service Technician or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with boiler maintenance, repairs, and installations.
• Proficiency in working with steam plant systems and hot water boilers.
• Experience in tuning boilers and conducting and analyzing flue gas analysis.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to tune a boiler for optimal performance.
• Familiarity with local air quality standards.
• Experience in performing and analyzing flue gas analysis.
• Provide training and guidance on safety protocols to other team members.
