About the position

The Boiler Service Technician position at Texas AirSystems involves performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on boilers and HVAC equipment. The role requires a strong focus on customer service and collaboration with project managers and service coordinators. The technician will ensure equipment operates at peak performance and will be responsible for preventive maintenance tasks, as well as advising clients on necessary actions and additional services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a variety of preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, etc. on boilers and other HVAC equipment
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspection and maintenance on equipment to ensure peak performance
  • Perform specific preventative maintenance including cleaning of equipment
  • Use experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s)
  • Represent the company positively to other trades, contractors and owners
  • Advise owner/representative of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken
  • Suggest additional services that are beneficial to customer
  • Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator daily
  • Work safely and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Current Boiler certification and OSHA 10 Training
  • 1-5 years' experience working as a Service Technician in a commercial environment
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Electrical knowledge required and EPA Certification (i.e. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.)
  • 2-3 years boiler maintenance and repair experience preferred
  • Ability to work in diverse conditions including mechanical equipment rooms, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and climbing/working at elevated heights
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds frequently
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
