About the position
The Body Shop Detail Technician at Swickard Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Anchorage is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of vehicles post-repair. This entry-level position plays a crucial role in the operations of the Body Shop by meticulously detailing vehicles and maintaining a clean work environment. The role emphasizes hospitality and teamwork, contributing to a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly vacuum carpets, upholstery, and floor mats, removing all dirt, debris, and pet hair.
- Clean fabric and leather seats, vinyl surfaces, and plastic trim.
- Deodorize interiors to eliminate unpleasant smells.
- Clean and polish windows and interior glass surfaces.
- Wash vehicles thoroughly using cleaning solution, cloths, and brushes.
- Degrease wheels and wheel wells, removing grime and brake dust.
- Clean and dress exterior trim like chrome, plastic, and rubber components.
- Sweep and clean work stalls and other areas throughout the shop.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and supplies are properly stored.
- Pick up and deliver vehicles as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, lifting).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
