About the position

The Boat Services Manager at Bass Pro Shops is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Boat Service area, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and productivity among associates. This role involves managing service and parts sales, warranty claims, and inventory control while supporting the Boat Manager in achieving financial goals and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide daily direction to associates in the Boat Service area.
• Support the Boat Manager in achieving financial goals for the Service area.
• Schedule and assign service, rigging, and warranty work orders.
• Ensure timely completion of work orders to customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and strive to increase associate productivity.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and secure work environment.
• Assist in staffing the Service area with customer-oriented associates.
• Participate in interviewing and training of associates.
• Prepare weekly work schedules and conduct performance appraisals.
• Resolve customer and associate issues in coordination with the Boat Manager.
• Coordinate all special events and promotional activities.
• Manage and ensure accuracy of unit and parts inventories.
• Ensure timely submission of warranty claims and payments.
• Conduct unit deliveries in a friendly and professional manner.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in Retail Boating or a similar industry.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PC-based word processing.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to calculate figures and analyze reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships.

• Experience with electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.
• Ability to conduct meetings and presentations.
